Former New York State Champion Caller – Jim Montanaro of
Imperial Game Calls will be the guest speaker.
Mounted turkeys will be on display.
There will be door prizes and raffles.
The drawing for the gun raffle will immediately follow the
seminar. Refreshments are

Adults $3.00. Boys & girls under 14 are FREE. Bring a friend.
2003
SCHOLARSHIP NEWS
In addition to the $250 Super Fund Scholarship that is
available to each local NWTF Chapter in the state, the Cortland
Limbhangers are going to match the state scholarship amount.
A scholarship totaling $500 will be awarded to Homer High School
student, Morgan Dubois. This
will be made possible from the gun raffle drawn at the Turkey Calling
Seminar.

This
event is educational as well as fun for JAKES (boys and girls age 17 and
under). Be sure to sign up your friends, neighbors and relatives for
an exciting day of activities. This
event is held Rain or Shine. The
first 50 JAKES to register are FREE.
After the first 50, the registration fee is $5.00 each.
Registration fee includes JAKES lunch, one year JAKES membership
to the NWTF and the JAKES magazine.
Refreshments are available for adults.

6TH ANNUAL
SUPERFUND MEMBERSHIP BANQUET

Once
again we have some tremendous items to be auctioned: fine
artwork, guns, collectibles, sculptures, outdoor equipment, jewelry, raffles, and
more. Be sure to
arrive early to view all these superb items.
The NWTF “2003 Gun of
the Year” is the Collector’s Edition Winchester 94-10 Lever Action
.410 shotgun. The 2003 NWTF “JAKES Gun of the Year” is a Henry Lever
Action .22 caliber rifle. There
are several other guns and hunting equipment to be raffled off.
There are many quality donations to be offered in the silent
auction and as door prizes. The Chapter is offering special “Early
Bird” packages for banquet tickets and Sponsor members.
All new members have a
chance at a box call signed by Dick Kirby.
NWTF WILD
TURKEY WOODLANDS (WTW) PROGRAM FIELD DAY

by Mid York Yelpers Chapter of NWTF and Cortland Limbhangers Chapter of
NWTF)

Day Event – Held Rain or Shine.

Michael Welshko's property, 7780
South Hamilton Rd., Earlville, NY (Madison County)
The
WTW program is intended for people who want to improve habitat for
turkey and other wildlife. The field day will offer an opportunity to
hear more about the program and to attend seminars on habitat
improvement by experts in the areas of: Forestry, Food Plots, Food Plot
Preparation, Trees & Shrubs, and Government Cost Sharing programs.
The detailed list of speakers and topics is not complete, at this time,
but will be posted on the NWTF NYS Chapter NWTF Website and will also be
posted in the NYS Chapter summer newsletter.
A
Second Field Day event will be held in Wyoming County on September 6,
2003.
Once
details are complete advance registration will be required. Anyone that

WOMEN IN THE OUTDOORS EVENT

NWTF Women in the Outdoors program is proving to be a very successful
event. This past year there
have been events offered at different locations throughout New York
State. Each location
offered exciting agendas for their own specific landscape/environment.
More and more women are finding this a very enjoyable and
exciting outdoors program. More
information will follow on the agenda offered this year in Cortland.
